First President and Prime Minister of New Nepal
Friday 03rd of October 2008 [ ????????, ???? १७, २०६५ ]

Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal is receiving it’s first ever elected President and Prime Minister. Both the President and the Prime minister were elected through the majority of the Constituent Assembly members after the major four parties CPN Maoist, Nepali Congress, CPN UML and Madhesi Janadikar Forum (MJF) failed to reach consensus in nominating the candidate for the post of President and Prime Minister respectively. Dr. Ram Baran Yadav who is a member of the Congress Party of Nepal took oath from the Chief Justice. Mr. PUshpa Kamal Dahal popularly known as Comrade. Prachanda is the new PM of Nepal. He is the Chairman of the CPNM (Maoist). Previously the ruling party used to choose the PM candidate of their preference, who had to be sworn in by the King.  The new Prime Minister took oath of office and secrecy “in the name of people” from President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav at a ceremony at the President’s Office premises. Among the twenty five elected political parties of Constituent Assembly twenty four endorsed their vote of confidence to the PM, except the Nepali Congress which decided to stay in the opposition.
